After five years, the user experience expectations evolved because of significant growth from job listing giants like Indeed and LinkedIn. The job board required a facelift to stay modern and relevant for users and fashion brands.
We updated two frameworks and implement a fresh design on a site that hardly any updates since the last time we touched it. This posed a challenge of unknown bugs and conflicts that may have went unseen since the last update. Another challenge was the client’s rigid budget constraints and lofty goals to get the site updated, refreshed, and ready to scale for another five years.
We executed a light design phase and put all of the heavy lifting into the site updates to keep it refreshed and optimized.
The goal of the project was to update the framework to remove bugs and provide a more modern and relevant interface for users and fashion brands. After the revamp, the website’s front and backends were enhanced with later versions and the search experience was optimized for users.
FreeFashionInternships.com was launched in 2007 and is an industry-leading source for fashion internships. In 2017 the founder, Carla Carstens, approached Tragic to help with a full redesign including re-imagining the design, re-architecting with modern frameworks, and migrating cloud hosting providers. After the initial launch, Tragic continued to support and iterate on the site as it grew. In 2022, Carla wanted to give the site a facelift and update the frameworks to their latest versions.
