Founder | Fractional CPO / CTO
Since 2009 Tragic has worked with founders, small businesses, and enterprise orgs to strategize, build, and scale technology solutions of all shapes and sizes.
We were recommended to Tragic for help migrating our various software systems from Rackspace to AWS. Rich and his team had such great communication and expertise, and the relationship worked so well, that we continued to engage with them for now over 4 years. Tragic works with us as close to "in house" as you can get from an outside vendor.

I've been working with Rich and his team for the last decade because I can trust they will always deliver. Most agencies can sell, but fail to execute. One percent of agencies sell and actually execute. A small subset of that one percent actually care about the final success of the end product. Tragic is part of that elite percentile.
DAN HUSS | CEO | GravityAI
We increased revenue by 50% in June and July in comparison to the year prior! I know you mainly hear from clients (me) when something is wrong. Thank you for being a great partner.

Supporting businesses and founders since 2009
Over the years the company's solutions and approach have evolved, but our focus in partnering with startups and growing businesses to manage their technology roadmap has not.
Tragic's first big ongoing project was building TaylorMade Golf's marketing emails and managing their Yahoo web store.
Our CEO was nominated for the San Diego 2020 Top Tech Awards
Our first "office" was 3 rented desks in the corner of a San Diego Drupal agency. Then for many years we occupied the historic San Diego Mayor's office. Now we are fully remote spread across the US.
In 2013 Tragic had the opportunity to rebuild Pixar.com after a San Diego agency outsourced the project abroad and it came back... less than Pixar ready.
Though Rich and Todd both worked at Digitaria at the same time, they didn't actually get acquainted until Todd started working as a contractor for Tragic in 2012. Now you might mistake them for brothers given their nearly identical last names.
Tragic has been able to scale their leadership and engagement approach to partner with a wide range of companies from sole founders to enterprise organizations alike.
Todd is the backbone of Tragic. A back-end wizard, he has more than 15+ years of experience in programming enterprise websites and applications, specializing in languages including PHP, Python, and Node; frameworks like Drupal and Laravel; and has extensive server experience building lean cloud-based infrastructures in GCP and AWS. Todd spends time keeping up with the latest advances in digital technologies and back-end frameworks to ensure Tragic is always leveraging bleeding-edge tech to produce modern, high performance applications and infrastructure.
Todd has been in software development his whole career, but his skills reached new levels working at Digitaria (now the global agency Mirum), where he gained exposure working with large brands like Taylor Guitars, Qualcomm, SAIC, and Petco. After Digi, Todd became one of the most valued engineers at Business.com before leaving to work as a consultant for local agencies in San Diego. He first started working with Tragic as a consultant in 2011, and was extremely impactful in our early growth. After several years, Todd came on-board full-time to grow Tragic's engineering department.
Todd is an avid video gamer and can be found playing games on Steam or Battle.net. He also likes to travel the world and has visited many countries including Thailand, Singapore, Laos and Malaysia.
