300 is a 2007 American epic historical film based on the 1998 comic series by Frank Miller. Following the success of the initial film, Zack Snyder produced a follow up in 2014 called Rise of an Empire.
The 300 marketing team engaged with Piston Agency to create novel web content to create buzz for the upcoming film. After the success of the Lego movie game, Piston engaged with Tragic Media to create another web game. This one would bring to life the card game classic War.
The solution took a similar approach as the Lego games.
Working closely with the Piston design team, we turned their requirements and Photoshop mockups into an engaging, shareable web game that was playable both on the website and Facebook. This game included clips from the film to add excitement to the “war” mini game when players matched cards with the Persian army, as well as other Easter egg "featurettes" for players to uncover during the game.
We worked closely with the Piston design team on several advanced Drupal and JavaScript projects over several years. They would bring us into projects where they need additional technical expertise and we would collaborate with their team to execute projects for leading national brands.
